Fred Astaire had starred in the original 1927 stage version of Funny Face, with his sister Adele. Audrey was reportedly nervous to work with him, as he was one of her idols, but he immediately put her at ease and was patient during their hours of practice.“Fred literally swept me off my feet,” Hepburn later recalled of Astaire, who was 30 years her senior.
